John D. Hermansdorfer, MD
Originally from Virginia, Dr. Hermansdorfer studied at Wake Forest University and University of Kentucky. He performed his residency at University of Florida and his fellowship at Indiana Center for Surgery and Rehabilitation of the Hand. Dr. Hermansdorfer also trained at the Hughston Sports Medicine Clinic in Columbus, Georgia. He is certified by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the National Board of Physicians and was awarded a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Surgery of the Hand by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
Dr. Hermansdorfer has been President and Partner at Atlantic Orthopaedic Group since 1994. He previously served as the Director of Orthopaedic Surgery at Holmes Regional Medical Center hospital, Board member of Brevard Physicians Network and Board member of Medical Practitioners for Affordable Care ACO.
His professional affiliations include the Florida Medical Association, Indianapolis Hand Society, American Society for Surgery of the Hand, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Florida Orthopedic Society and University of Kentucky Medical Alumni Association.
He is credentialed to perform surgery at Holmes Regional Medical Center hospital, Melbourne Surgery Center and Melbourne Same Day Surgery.
Dr. Hermansdorfer has over 30 years of experience in restorative and reconstructive surgery of the upper and lower extremities. He performs a variety of arthroscopic and general orthopedic procedures, specifically including the hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder, knee and ankle. Common conditions include Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Radial Tunnel Syndrome, Rotator Cuff Repair, Tennis Elbow, Torn Meniscus in the knee, Osteoarthritis of the joints, Knee Ligament injuries and Shoulder injuries. He also offers regenerative and biological medical alternative treatments.
